Superior Training To Improve Your Aim In Call of Duty: Warzone

The ability to consistently win games of a Battle Royale like Call of Duty: Warzone requires strategy, experience and great aim. All of these components can take hundreds or thousands of hours to properly develop. In recent years, aim training has emerged as the go-to option for greatly accelerating improvements to aim, creating aim gods in weeks, not years.

High-level aim abilty provides unique benefits that strategy and experience do not provide. It creates a safety net that lets you turn around any situation, no matter how dire it is. You can win disadvantaged fights and overcome mistakes in positioning and decision making through superior mechanics. While it isn’t a great idea to rely on aim alone and ignore the other elements of success, it stands out above its peers in the speed at which you can develop the skill, and its devastating potency.

How to Get Better at Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone is unique compared to the base Call of Duty games the franchise is known for. The time to kill is significantly slower and the engagement distance is typically much longer than what you would see in a typical Call of Duty game.

The longer time to kill makes tracking a vital skill to master as your opponents will often have time to move or run while you are firing at them. Inaccurate tracking on moving or strafing targets can cost you valuable damage or even let them escape to fight another day. Consider how many more fights you and your team would win if those few extra crucial shots landed, rather than having the enemy escape or take you down.

The variable engagement distances from short to extremely long range allow for players to use a lower sensitivity if that is beneficial to them. Mid to low sensitivities around 30-55cm/360 are very popular in Call of Duty: Warzone. It is certainly possible to perform with higher, or even lower sensitivities so we recommend experimenting and finding what settings let you perform best in this game.

Improve Your Tracking

Tracking in a game like Call of Duty: Warzone can be significantly improved with an understanding of the limitations of player movement. Constantly reacting to changes in movement leads to erratic and jittery aim as you are fighting your own reaction time. When you are tracking a target, remind yourself that they can only move in a few simple directions at a relatively low speed.

Tracking Shapes

Acknowledging these constraints in movement allow you to deliberately ‘paint’ these simple shapes on-screen. The hectic nature of encounters and the huge influx of sensory information can make tracking feel far more difficult than it needs to be. Being able to read their movement and deliberately track accordingly can make all the difference to your consistency and accuracy.

Familiarizing yourself with this approach to tracking is fastest and most efficient through playing maps in KovaaK’s such as “Thin Gauntlet”, “Thin Aiming Invincible” and “Midrange Longstrafes Invincible”.

Improving your aim complements many other key factors to winning a match in Call of Duty: Warzone. Typically in Battle Royale games, avoiding combat means avoiding a chance at dying, giving you a better chance of taking the win. This doesn’t apply in Warzone as your economy and resources play a huge part in your ability to take home the win in the final minutes.

Completing contracts and wiping squads provides the cash to purchase loadouts, armor, killstreaks and revives. Having optimal weaponry and maximum armor at all times throughout the game drastically improves your chances of surviving encounters. Better weapons and maximum armor can provide significant advantages against underequipped opponents.

Choosing the Right Weapon

The most powerful weapons are constantly subject to balance patches and individual playstyles, so instead we will cover strategies for choosing which weapon will be most potent in your hands.

Discrepancies in balance aside, each weapon ‘should’ have stats allocated to a power budget. For example, an assault rifle with very high damage will likely have higher recoil and/or a slower fire rate to compensate for that strength. In general, the weapons with the absolute fastest time to kill tend to be harder to control. If you are confident in your recoil control these weapons may suit you.

In almost every scenario you will typically be running an automatic weapon, whether it is an SMG or an AR is up to you. The second weapon should round out your viable engagement distances. For example, if your second weapon is a shotgun it’s a good idea to play inside buildings, and to push buildings that enemy players are occupying as you will often have a significant advantage playing with a close quarters weapon. Alternatively, if your second weapon is a sniper rifle, you will want to be more wary of close quarter combat as you could be at a disadvantage. Instead, playing outdoors and using natural cover to cover longer sight lines can be a great option for this choice of weaponry.
